As PMDs are ideal for first and last mile travel, it may be worth building the infrastructure to use them safely
The recent saga over the banning of e-scooters on footpaths brought back memories of a similar episode I was involved in years ago in which a change in transport policy also affected the earnings of thousands of people.
It was 1985 and I was a young officer working in the Ministry of Communications which was then trying to solve the perennial problem of commuters unable to find taxis when they needed them.
